About the Programme

As the construction industry enters a new era of project delivery, contracts have become essential tools for managing key issues like time and cost overruns amid an ever-changing global environment. Modern delivery methods promise to synchronise project phases and leverage innovative practices, fundamentally transforming how infrastructure is designed, built, and managed. Despite these advances, challenges such as delays, disputes, cost overruns, and the demand for improved collaboration persist across complex project ecosystems. Construction law offers powerful solutions to these issues by guiding the management of these intricate environments. Integrating digital technology and legal frameworks opens new avenues for transparency, streamlined processes, and enhanced project performance.

The ICLA Construction Law Conference, scheduled for April 8-9, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa, will convene legal professionals, industry experts, and policymakers to examine the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in construction law. With the theme “Revealing the Foundation of Modern Project Success: Contracts as Tools for Modernizing Collaboration and Resolving Conflict,” the conference will feature in-depth discussions on:

  1. Standard Contract Forms and Jurisdictional Laws – Examining roles across diverse.
  2. 2.Project Delivery Models – Comparing traditional and modern approaches.
  3. Dispute Avoidance and Resolution – Exploring Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) vs. traditional methods of resolving disputes in construction projects.

This conference will provide an invaluable platform for practitioners, experts, and academics to connect, share insights, and discover project delivery innovations that set the foundation for smarter, more connected, and high-performing projects.
